In 1992 I began working with women who were going through menopause. At that time the medical approach was “You’re in menopause? Here is your Premarin/Provera”. Because of this approach, western medicine believes that what is best for the majority is the best treatment. There were too many women who didn’t do well on that mindset.
I believe in a customized integrative medicine that is based on your unique situation. Menopause is like sailing a boat across the water: it requires adjustments from time to time to steer through life’s complexities. Each of us goes through menopause in our own individual way, and I believe that we need support to navigate the best way for us.
” The Change of Life” is a process that often has a gradual and unnoticed beginning. I discovered Women’s International Pharmacy and one of their pharmacists introduced me to Bio-identical Hormone Therapy. Since that time I have actively followed the research on allopathic and alternative approaches to assisting women through the menopause. All the tools I have acquired will be at your disposal. My joy is to work with each of you to find the best customized approach for you.
Most women need no hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Herbal support is enough to help them through this process. For the women who do need HRT nothing else will work. Menopause is officially the lack of menstrual flow for one year. We divide this process into three phases.
Peri-menopause is everything that leads up to our last period.
Menopause is the end of flow for one year.
Post-menopausal is when all the symptoms of “the change” have ended.
This is a large and complicated topic. I have divided it into categories to better help you find what you need.
- Why do I have to go through this?
- Peri-menopause
- Menopause
- Hot flashes
- Insomnia
- Foggy brain
- Sore feet and joint pain
- Skin changes
- Emotional Roller Coaster
- Depression and Anxiety
- Appropriate testing to evaluate your situation.
