Shorten Your Cold
You can do something to shorten the symptoms so you can get back to your life sooner.
Imana Medicine offers herbal approaches that help many people shorten the symptoms to 7 days. We also offer an IV vitamin combination that can stop a flu in 2 days and shorten the cold to 5 days (results may vary).
Cold season is traditionally late fall to early spring. Here in the high desert cold and flu season is complicated by our allergy season in the spring and fall . Also, as more of us travel we are exposed to colds and flu to which we have not developed immunity.
What is a Cold?
Colds are viral infections that generally begin in the throat, travel to the sinuses and then into your lungs. You feel awful, congested, cough and may have a runny nose. Colds generally last 4 to 14 days. You can have a bacterial infection such as strep and these usually are either in the throat ,the sinus or the ears. They are generally more painful, have more swelling and you will run a temperature over 101.F. The only way I can tell if the infection is viral or bacterial is for you to come see me. In person, it is possible for a practitioner to determine the cause based on how your throat and ears look, how your lungs sound, if you have a temperature and if you have swollen glands.
What is the Flu?
Flu or Influenza is a viral infection that effects your muscles, your sinuses and/or you GI tract. The main symptom is of muscle pain and low grade fever. If it effects the GI tract you will also experience nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Flu can be much more intense than colds and generally do not last as long.
You should seek medical care if you experience high fever, difficulty breathing, persistent symptoms, or if you are at higher risk due to chronic conditions or pregnancy.
Treatments may include antiviral medications, hydration therapy, and immune-boosting supplements tailored to your specific needs.
Regular handwashing, flu vaccinations, a balanced diet, adequate sleep, and immune-boosting supplements can help reduce your risk.
